June 29 – July 1, 2012 - Organic Brewers Festival
Portland, Oregon
Designed to raise awareness about organic beer and sustainable living, the NAOBF serves up more than 50 organic beers from around the nation. From summery Saison and Kolsch styles to rich and hearty stouts, the festival offers beers to please every palate. There’s also live music, organic food, sustainability-oriented vendors and non-profits, and a children’s area. More…
June 16, 2012 – Beer Event
Winona Lake, Indiana
Tell all your thirsty friends that the tasting event tickets are on sale at Cerulean. $20 will get them all the brew they’d like to try (starting at 5 p.m.) and makes a nice donation to CCS (Combined Community Services of Kosciusko County.) We’re shooting for 200 people…hope we have enough beer. We’re at about 150 gallons, which is more than a growler per person. Should make for some rosy cheeks.
May 5, 2012 – Big Brew, National Homebrew Day
Everywhere in the world (How’d you miss that one?)
American Homebrewers Association Big Brew is a celebration of National Homebrew Day. Each year homebrewers around the world invite family and friends to their brewing site on the first Saturday in May to celebrate the holiday. Everyone is encouraged to help out with the event, enjoy the fun and join in on a world-wide toast at noon CDT.
How to celebrate AHA Big Brew
- Find a Club in your town and join them for AHA Big Brew.
- Brew at your own AHA Big Brew site.
- Find more fun ideas for before, during and after your big event.
- AHA Big Brew Recipes are provided each year to encourage simultanious brewing of the same beer.
- There are plenty of homebrew recipes from past AHA Big Brew events. Find these recipes and hundreds more on the AHA Homebrewopedia.
Kettleheads Big Brew:
Here’s some photos of Big Brew, May 5, 2012 at the Cone’s. Brewers included: Dana and Kathy Cone, Daren and Lorraine Deffenbaugh, Matt Livengood, Dustin Hollar, and Chad Coxson. Other Kettleheads stopped by for a cold one: John Stangland, Keith, and Vishaka.
Looks like Jeb Freeman showed up for free beer and brought his party shirt with him!
The Deffenbaughs brewed “Skid Mark” black lager, Hollar brewed a citra single-hop pale ale, Coxon a clone of “Moosedrool” brown ale, and the Cones “Bucksnort” American brown ale. The Cone’s brewed the American Bucksnort Ale that they will be serving at the Cerulean event on June 16, 2012.

This is a great post, thanks!
You’re welcome, Money! Glad to have you aboard!
